Lumé for iPhone

Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 August 2026

Lumé does not collect your data. Your photos stay on your device, and the app has no servers to send anything to.

The short version

Lumé is a photo editor that runs entirely on your iPhone. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Nothing you shoot, import, or edit is uploaded anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to go — the only network request Lumé ever makes is to Apple, to buy or restore a subscription.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Your photos

  • Photos you shoot or import are stored in Lumé's private storage area on your device.
  • Your edits are saved on the device alongside them.
  • When you save an edited photo, it is written to your own photo library — only after you grant permission, and only when you ask for it.
  • When you use the share sheet, iOS hands the photo to whichever app you pick. What happens next is governed by that app's privacy policy, not ours.
  • If you have iCloud Backup or encrypted device backups switched on, iOS includes Lumé's storage in that backup along with the rest of your apps. Those backups are Apple's, and are covered by Apple's Privacy Policy — we have no access to them.

Permissions Lumé asks for

  • Camera — to take photos inside the app. Used only while you are shooting.
  • Photo library (read) — to open photos you choose for editing.
  • Photo library (add) — to save your edited photos back to your library.

You can change or revoke these at any time in Settings on your iPhone. Lumé keeps working without them; it just cannot shoot, import, or save.

Preferences stored on your device

Lumé remembers small preferences locally — such as whether you have seen the intro — using the operating system's standard storage. These never leave your device.

Subscriptions and purchases

Lumé Pro is sold through Apple. Your payment is processed by Apple, and we never see your payment details, card number, or billing address. Apple tells the app only whether an active subscription exists. Purchases are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and your App Store account terms.

Children

Lumé is not directed at children under 13, and collects no information from anyone, children included.

Deleting your data

Because everything lives on your device, deleting the app removes the photos and edits Lumé stored. Photos you already saved to your own photo library stay there — they are yours, and you delete them from the Photos app. If a device backup was taken while the app was installed, that copy lives in the backup until the backup itself is replaced or deleted.

This website

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds nothing from third parties — the fonts are served from this domain rather than from a font provider, so loading a page here does not tell anyone else that you visited. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
