Photos and saving

Where are my photos stored?

On your iPhone, inside Lumé. Nothing is uploaded — the app has no servers. See the privacy policy.

I saved a photo but I can't find it

Saved photos go to your photo library as a new picture, dated today — the original is left untouched, so you will see both side by side. Look under "Recents".

Saving fails or the button does nothing

Lumé needs permission to add to your photo library. Open Settings › Lumé and turn on photo access, then try again. Lumé only claims a save succeeded when the photo actually reaches your library.

Lumé Pro

What does Pro unlock?

The full film stock library, all effects and overlays, and the whole template library. The free tier keeps ten stocks, ten templates and eight effects so you can see what the app is before paying for it.

I already subscribed but the app says Free

Open Profile and tap the plan row at the top — it reads View Plans while the app thinks you are on the free tier, and Lumé Pro once it knows better — then tap Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID you bought it with.

I have a code — where do I redeem it?

Profile › Redeem a code. Apple's redemption sheet opens; paste the code there and Pro unlocks straight away.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Lumé — or go straight to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Pro until the period you paid for ends. Cancel at least 24 hours before that date: inside those last 24 hours Apple has already begun the next renewal.

Refunds

Apple handles all refunds for App Store purchases. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Write to us too if something went wrong — it helps us fix it.

The app

Which iPhones does Lumé run on?

Any iPhone running iOS 17 or later.

Does it work offline?

Entirely. Editing, shooting and saving never touch the network. The only thing that needs a connection is buying or restoring a subscription, which goes through Apple.

Does Lumé change my original photo?

No. Edits are kept separately and the original is never overwritten; saving always writes a new photo.

Something else

Bugs, requests, or a photograph that came out wrong — write to lume@codewithgabo.com. If you are reporting a bug, telling us what you tapped just before it happened is worth more than a screenshot.
